Every time I visited to the supermarket store, I would see an entire aisle of bath and beauty products including colorful bath salts. Pretty as they were to me, I would simply look but not purchase. Who actually uses bath salts at home? I hadn’t a clue on what they really were, and what they were for. Just no plain idea on what benefit they would do me.

But, it is better than late than never. Now that I know about what aromatherapy is and how natural elements are used to relieve different skin and body problems. It is a neat fact to know that this is a natural benefit of stepping into a hot spring, or into a natural mineral bath (where natural salts exist). Exfoliating the skin to remove dead cells is a very important beauty and health regimen, so it is also nice to know that you can do this at home with homemade bath salts.

And who knew that I would be able to treat my pimples a lot better by exfoliating all my pores from head to toe with these homemade bath salts? All the scrubbing to open up the pores, to free the dirt and sweat to be washed away. So nice! I am imagining how rejuvenated my entire skin will be after all the unpleasantness is purged and removed. If I were to be this close to getting pimples on my face and back, I would be confident to know that the homemade bath salts would be the perfect ammo.

But, what’s this? There’s even more benefits dealing with bug bites and skin rashes? Fantastic! I can use homemade bath salts on areas of the skin that have been affected with minor rashes and infections, Athlete’s Foot and psoriasis, eczema and whatnot. So nice to care for all of that in one fell swoop. (Though I hope I don’t get hit with everything all at once!)

Okay, okay maybe not so evil, but what if you felt so tense all over your muscles and tendons? That would still benefit from a little massaging with the home made bath salts. With all the stress you can feel mentally, you can feel it physically, too, and the epsom salt can come to the rescue here, too.

You yourself can also be pampered when you breathe in the lovely-smelling scents from the essential oils used to mix in with the homemade bath salts. You will find your mood ease up, your stress lift, and your well-being feeling that much better as you breathe in the Bergamot and Ylang Ylang oils.

If you stay in the bath long enough, be careful as your fingers will lose water and look like raisins. There’s only so much that the Epsom bath salts can do, as they do adjust the composition of the bath water and create a protective layer on the skin so that water does not enter or leave too much.

You can only imagine how much better you will feel knowing that you made these bath salts right at home, where you got to choose what scents, what colors, and what beautiful jar you put the salts into. All those health and beauty benefits in one small jar.

Sydney Garrett adores homemade bath salts and probably has a cornucopia of bath soaps ingredients for fun.
